This wreath was white hydrangeas, blue veronica and blue thistle. It is hanging on the door of the chapel at Bald Head Island. I love the way the thistle dances along the rounding lines. This was for Kelli and Nik's wedding where the bride and groom had a traditional Polterband (clatter-evening) where, at the rehearsal dinner, the bride and groom break dishes and then immediatly sweep up the pieces, symbolizing breaking of the old life and beginning the new...depending on which expert you consult..nevertheless it is meant to bring prosperity to the happy couple.

This photo of a beautiful bejeweled bouquet was taken by one of our favorite talented photographers, Anne McGowan. She recently opened a studio at Bald Head Island and these shots are from a workshop that she attended in California. The babys breath hair wreaths are just perfection and the bouquet of jewels ..I am going to begin scouring second hand shops for some fabulous vintage bling.

We loved these invitations that Erin Bazos designed for our bride Adrienne and feel that Erin perfectly caught the essence and special beauty of Bald Head Island.

We recently found out that Erin was married last year in a lovely ceremony at Villa Cimbrone on the Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Italy.

We at Kim Fisher Designs are thrilled with the response for our first ever DIY workshop, "Project Floral and Design Workshop" to be held at the Bald Head Island Club January 16th. Yes, we are breaking out the Happy Dance! Remember, "Those who hear not the music think the dancers mad". There is still time to register and places are still available for this workshop, so you too can hear the music :)

A brand new rose, Two Face. A rather dubious name for such a prety flower. It has lovely dark pink petals outside and opens to a much lighter color with a taupe center. I think it has a vintage quality, old fashioned. A brand new rose for a brand new year.

What a really terrific way to leave behind 2009 with one of our favorite weddings featured on one of our favorite blogs AND photographed by one of our favorite photographers. And so we sail on into 2010 and all the wonderful, exciting opportunities that lay ahead.
