Meredith and John, a lovely wedding at The Shoals

Meredith and John wanted a beach chic wedding at the Shoals Club. Meredith has spent her life coming to this beautiful, magical barrier island off the coast of North Carolina. We covered the ceremony pergola with pink jasmine for a simple look. The bride carried seasonal peonys and white phaleonopsis orchids. We fashioned starfish for boutonnierres as per the bride's request and decorated the site with glass lanterns, candlelight and hung capiz shell chandeliers from the clear tent where the dancing happened. A good time was had by all and we're told that several groomsmen ended the night in the pool! This weeks vendor is not a vendor at all, but a venue! And a marvelous one at that. To quote their website "The Shoals Club is a family-focused beach club built for the enjoyment of island property owners and their guests. Conceived as an oceanfront complement to the Bald Head Island Club, the Shoals Club provides a relaxed setting for families and neighbors to gather together and enjoy traditional seaside pastimes."

We have worked closely with two of the Event Coordinators, Tabatha Walsh and Jamie Stevens, both of whom are a pleasure to work with. Below is a fabulous photograph from Anne McGowan of newlyweds Adrienne and Willson, standing on the boardwalk in front of The Shoals. So elegant, and yet so "beach casual" at the same time, brilliant!

This Wednesday our featured vendor is Michael Kaiser of Kaiser Wrought Iron. Michael is also our website designer/administrator/geek. He also is the web designer/graphics-guru for another project that is close to our hearts, the Wilmington Fur Ball. We adore Michael's work, whether he is in front of the computer or the anvil, his creativity, talent and attention to detail are testament that he is a true craftsman.

Hello All- Well, we can't help posting more of Millie Holloman'sphotos of our beautuful couple Aileen and Keith.Water and flowers, two of my favorie things along with this couple. Have been emailing and speaking on the phone for months and I knew Aileen was a lovely girl however after meeting her and Keith we've decided they're almost too good to be true. Also Aileen is so creative and very involved with decor planning, this will be a knockout wedding.

We have decided to start a new feature here on our blog, entitled "Our Favorite Vendors". We will feature a new vendor every week that we have personally worked with in the past, and more importantly a vendor that we would LOVE to work with again! Some of these vendors have worked with us only a few times, and some are almost like family, we have worked together so many, many times! Our intent is to showcase vendors that strive to maintain a high standard of service and professionalism, an eye for beauty, and an overall love for their work. We want to let you, the general public, know whom we would trust if we wanted to hire a professional in the Wilmington and Bald Head Island area.
